Inclined tube sedimentation tank

Description

‌ Inclined tube sedimentation tank ‌ is an efficient solid-liquid separation equipment, which is widely used in sewage treatment. Its core principle is to use the shallow pool theory and laminar flow principle, and by setting a large number of inclined parallel tubular fillers (inclined tubes) in the sedimentation area, the single large sedimentation space of the traditional sedimentation tank is divided into multiple shallow sedimentation units, thereby significantly improving the sedimentation efficiency.

Working principle
The working principle of the inclined tube sedimentation tank is based on the shallow pool theory and laminar flow principle:
.‌Shallow pool theory‌: In the sedimentation tank, the sedimentation efficiency is inversely proportional to the pool depth and proportional to the sedimentation area. By setting up inclined tubes, the sedimentation space is divided into multiple shallow layers, shortening the sedimentation path and time of suspended matter.
.‌Laminar flow principle‌: The water flow in the inclined tube is in a laminar state, which reduces water flow disturbance, avoids the settled sludge from being re-rolled up, and improves the separation effect.
Structural features
The inclined tube sedimentation tank is mainly composed of the following parts:
.‌Water inlet area‌: The wastewater to be treated enters the sedimentation tank evenly through the water distribution system.
.‌Inclined tube filling area‌: Inclined tubes are usually made of polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) materials, with an inclination angle of 60° and a spacing of 30-100mm, usually 35-50mm.
.‌Sedimentation area‌: Wastewater flows upward or downward in the inclined tube, and suspended matter settles to the inner wall of the inclined tube due to gravity.
.‌Effluent area‌: The supernatant overflows from the top of the inclined tube to the outlet tank and is discharged, and the sludge slides down along the inner wall of the inclined tube to the mud hopper at the bottom of the pool.
.‌Sludge area‌: Conical mud hoppers and mud discharge systems are provided to discharge sludge regularly.
Advantages and characteristics
.‌High-efficiency separation‌: By dividing into multiple shallow sedimentation units, the sedimentation efficiency is significantly improved.
.‌Shortened sedimentation time‌: The sedimentation path of suspended matter is short, and the sedimentation time is greatly shortened.
.‌Reduced floor space‌: Due to the shallow design, the floor space can be reduced under the same processing capacity.
.‌Easy maintenance‌: The sludge discharge system is reasonably designed to facilitate regular sludge discharge and maintenance.
