Description

High-efficiency spray scrubber is a device that removes pollutants from waste gas through gas-liquid contact and is widely used in industrial waste gas treatment. Its main functions include removing dust particles, acidic gases (such as SO₂, HCl), organic waste gas (VOCs) and some toxic and harmful substances in the gas. The core principle of the high-efficiency spray scrubber is to spray the absorption liquid (mostly water or chemical agents) through the spray system, and physically absorb, chemically react or dissolve the pollutants in the waste gas, so as to achieve the purpose of purifying the waste gas.
Structural composition
The high-efficiency spray scrubber is mainly composed of the following parts:
. ‌Tower body‌: Mostly cylindrical or square, made of corrosion-resistant materials (such as PP, FRP, stainless steel), with multiple spray layers and packing layers inside.
. ‌Spray system‌: including nozzles, circulating water pumps and pipes, spraying the absorption liquid through high pressure.
. ‌Packing layer‌: Filled with high-efficiency packing (such as ball rings and Raschig rings) to increase the gas-liquid contact area and improve the purification efficiency.
.‌Defogger‌: Located at the top of the tower, it is used to separate the droplets entrained in the gas to avoid secondary pollution.
.‌Circulating water tank‌: Stores and recycles the spray liquid. Some systems are equipped with PH adjustment or reagent dosing devices to enhance the reaction effect.
Working principle
The working principle of the high-efficiency spray scrubber is as follows:
.‌Waste gas introduction‌: The polluted gas enters from the air inlet at the bottom of the tower body and flows upward.
.‌Spray purification‌: The circulating pump transports the absorption liquid to the nozzle to form a dense water mist, which contacts the rising gas in reverse. The pollutants are captured by the droplets through inertial collision, diffusion, dissolution or chemical reaction.
.‌Padding reinforcement‌: When the gas passes through the packing layer, the tortuous path further prolongs the gas-liquid contact time and improves the mass transfer efficiency.
.‌Defog discharge‌: The purified gas is discharged after the water is removed by the demister, and the absorption liquid is returned to the water tank for recycling. It can be replaced or treated after saturation.
Application scenarios and advantages
High-efficiency spray scrubbers are suitable for a variety of industrial waste gas treatment scenarios, including:
1.  Removal of acidic gases: such as SO₂, HCl, HF, etc. By selecting a suitable absorption liquid (such as NaOH solution), these acidic gases can be effectively absorbed and converted into harmless or low-toxic salts.
2. Treatment of organic waste gas: such as VOCs, by adding oxidants or catalysts, the organic matter in the waste gas is promoted to undergo oxidation reaction with water and decomposed into CO₂ and water.
3.  Dust removal and demisting: remove particulate matter and droplets in the waste gas, suitable for waste gas treatment containing dust, oil smoke or water mist.
4. Control of odor emissions: treat odorous gases such as hydrogen sulfide and ammonia to reduce the impact of odor on the environment.
