Description
Working Principle
The spiral sand-water separator is installed at an inclination angle of 20°-30°. The sand-water mixture enters the water tank from the water inlet pipe. The particles with larger specific gravity (such as sand) in the mixture fall and settle at the bottom of the spiral groove due to their own weight. Under the push of the spiral, the material is lifted along the bottom of the inclined U-shaped groove. After leaving the liquid surface, it continues to move up for a distance. The water in the sand gradually flows back to the water tank in the gap in the spiral groove. The sand also gradually dries at the discharge port and falls into other conveying devices by its own weight. The supernatant continuously flows out of the drain pipe. The purpose of sand and water separation is achieved.
Structure and working process
1. The spiral sand-water separator consists of a shaftless spiral, a lining strip, a U-shaped groove, a water tank, a guide plate, a water outlet weir and a drive device.
2. The sand-water mixture is fed into the water tank from the top of one end of the separator. The heavier particles in the mixed liquid, such as sand particles, will be deposited at the bottom of the trough. Under the push of the spiral, the sand particles are lifted along the inclined bottom of the trough, and continue to move for a distance after leaving the liquid surface. After the sand particles are fully dehydrated, they are discharged to the sand bucket through the sand discharge port, and the water separated from the sand and water is discharged from the overflow port and sent to the water inlet pool in the factory.

Use
It is used in the sand settling tank of the sewage treatment plant to separate the sand and water mixture discharged from the sedimentation tank.
